Ipplepen Village Hall offers flexible, well-equipped spaces to suit a wide range of events, classes, meetings and community activities.

All booking requests require users to register with this site. Once registered, you can view and manage your bookings, quickly add new bookings and view any invoices you have been issued. Please read Conditions of Hire & Safety.

Main Hall

Capacity: 150 people
Pricing: £7.50-£20.00 per hour

Our largest space, for up to 150 people. The Main Hall has a large stage with stage lighting, a loop and public-address system and a projection screen, making it ideal for performances, celebrations, parties, meetings, sport and community events. A kitchen with a serving hatch adjoins the hall, and there is ample parking on site.

There are two electricity meters, one in the side hall, the other to the left of the stage in the main hall. Users who use the whole hall need only record the meter reading from the main hall since it covers all power consumed on site, whereas the one in the side hall only records electricity used in the side hall.

Side Hall

Capacity: 50 people
Pricing: £4.80-£15.00 per hour

A smaller, flexible room for up to 50 people, well suited to meetings, classes, small groups and children's parties. It can also be hired as an annexe to the Main Hall - for example for catering, a servery or a bar.

Whole Hall

Capacity: 200 people
Pricing: £7.50-£20.00 per hour

The Main Hall, Side Hall and the Stage hired together as a single venue, for up to 200 people. Ideal for larger celebrations, weddings and events that need the whole building, with the Side Hall on hand for catering, refreshments or a bar alongside the Main Hall.

Staff options: Edit facility The kitchen has an electric urn for continuous hot water, and a sink with hot and cold running water. Other equipment includes an electric kettle, a twin electric oven with a six burner burner gas hob, a large fridge freezer, microwave oven, and a high speed dishwasher. The hatch from kitchen to main hall has an electric roller blind with controls to the right of the hatch.

Toilets

The hall has recently-modernised male and female toilets, including a unisex disabled toilet. The toilets are accessed from the entrance lobby. Please dispose of bulky paper items and ‘towels’ in the bins provided. We reserve the right to charge for blockages caused by disposal via the toilets.

Chairs & Tables

Chairs: Total 180, of which 63 are cushioned, 20 green stackable plastic, 48 red stackable plastic and 49 with arms.

Tables: 8 Large tables (1830 x 685: 780 high); 6 smaller tables (915 x 685: 685 high); 9 small rigid tables (approx 750 square); 7 intermediate sized tables, 10 Card tables; a number of trestle tables.

Car Park

A limited number of parking spaces are available in the car park. Please leave the disabled spaces clear to be used by disabled persons. Please note that when there are concurrent events, one in the Main Hall and another in the Side Hall, then users from both events may be using the car park. The Gate to the Car Park is to be locked overnight, so the last person leaving from an evening booking should close the main gate and use the padlock and chain to lock it provided there are no cars in the car park. Details of how to “Access to the Village Hall” are set out in a document that will be issued to hirers once their bookings are confirmed – this sets out how to open the gates and how to obtain the key for the hall.

Sound System

The hall's sound system includes an Induction Loop (for hearing-aid users, with T-switch), and a Public Address system. The system is available for use by hirers, but instruction is required before it is used. Use of the sound system must be arranged at the time of booking.

Party Lights System

The hall's state of the art lighting system is available for use by hirers, but instruction is required before it is used. Use of the lighting system must be arranged at the time of booking.

Vision System

The hall is equipped with projector, large screen and loudspeakers for slide shows and film shows. This equipment is available to hirers, but instruction is required before it is used. Use of vision system must be arranged at the time of booking.
